Why I Chose Thriller as My Genre
As a group, we decided to use the thriller genre for our project because it gave us the most creative opportunities. When discussing different ideas together, we felt that thrillers allow us to experiment more with suspense, tension, and storytelling. The thriller genre gives us the freedom to use dark lighting, intense sound design, and mysterious locations, which helps build anticipation and keeps the audience engaged.
I chose thriller because it focuses strongly on mood and psychological tension rather than just action. Elements such as shadows, silence, close up shots, and slow pacing help create suspense and make scenes more impactful. Thrillers also encourage the audience to question characters and narratives, which makes the experience more immersive and interesting.
Overall, the thriller genre fits our group’s ideas and creative style well. It allows us to produce a final outcome that feels tense, gripping, and memorable, while still being realistic and engaging for the audience
